The whole bowling & eating experience is an excellent idea for a day out with family or friends. And even if someone is not a big fan of typical American dishes they can easily find something yummy for themselves: Italian Spaghetti & Meatballs, Jamaican Jerk Chicken or dishes looking like Chinese takeaway.
All in all, I must say that this is one of the most fun meals I have had in a long time in London - and I am not only saying that because it is less than 20 minutes from my front door! Our waitress was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and efficient; the cocktails were good; the food was mostly good (and my pork was excellent); and as I said the portions are such that you can easily share and make this a very economical night out. I loved the decor and the fun, retro feel of the bowling alley, and I had forgotten what a sociable and fun way bowling can be to spend an evening with friends. The cocktails are probably a little on the expensive side considering you are not in central London, but I did not think the food was badly priced at all, and I am keen to return to try out their Sun-Wed dinner and bowling deal: £26 per person for two courses and a bowling game until the end of February. I'll be back.
A decent wine list, and limited but well done selection of tex mex food. The beef chilli with black bean rice was surprisingly well made and delicious, so much so one of the children forsake their own kids meal and decided to have half of mine after tasting it.
We booked here with bowling for a children's birthday, as it's a convenient location and venue, with a busy atmosphere, and apparently rather popular with the kids birthday crowd, so it can get rather noisy, however it means you're less concerned about the noise level of your own little ones.
The children's menu is solid fare, if rather unimaginative. However, happy faces and full bellies at he end of the afternoon is a win in my mind.
